I used a figure that represents old fashioned transportation and filled it with images of modern forms of transportion.

Project #3 Figure to ground

For project #3 I decided to use a picture of my Uncle's wedding. I feel that this a picture of an iconic pose. I think that this pose protrays the classic idea of love and aslo that time and place in life of love and marrige.


This was my paper copy. I really didn't like it at first because I felt like the image was hard to see, but I then realized that it would be ok because the color values would be reversed and it would look more balanced and be more recognizable.



This is the final outcome. I have two copies of the shirt.

Old Pieces from my Starvation Portfolio

In high school I began a portfolio on starvation and malnutrion. I'm very interested in social issues. I find that painting or drawing things that are hard to look at make you look at art a new way. You are forced to grow and come out of your shell. And in the process you are able to educate people about atrocities happening all over the world.

Random Old Art

Nadine Sauer is one of my greatest inspirations. She is my grandmother. She encouraged me to use my artistic talents when I was a child. This is one of her watercolor paintings that I have at my house. She was actually a medical depictor for court trials. She drew what was on an x-ray so that those in the jury would be able to see it more clearly. Unfortunately I don't have any of those drawings because they are property of the court.
