Old Pieces from my Starvation Portfolio

In high school I began a portfolio on starvation and malnutrion. I'm very interested in social issues. I find that painting or drawing things that are hard to look at make you look at art a new way. You are forced to grow and come out of your shell. And in the process you are able to educate people about atrocities happening all over the world.

A Hunk of Meat - A female torso. Arcylic on canvas.

Melvin - My original starving man. Oil pastel on paper.

Waterboy - Graphite on paper.

Starving boy - Charcoal on paper.

Somewhere Right Now - Oil on hardboard
